There are two basic classifications of mechanical parking systems, the Valet or Attendant systems and the Self-Park or Automated systems.

  • Valet

    Valet (aka Attendant) systems require one or more persons to move the vehicles and operate the parking equipment.

  • Self-Park

    The Self-Park (aka Automated) systems move and store vehicles automatically and do not require a dedicated operator or valet.

    Hybrid systems are Self-Park systems using a valet or operator.
